Audio Systems: TV Sound Input, akai plasma tv, external speakers

Question
There are a few inputs to the back of my AKAI plasma TV.  I have comcast as a service provider.  I am wondering how to hook up my amplifier if there is no input for amplifier on the back of the TV only the following: PC, DVI, S-Video, and 2 component ins. I currently have the tv sound on the speaker is plugged into the amp and the amp into the back of the TV.

Answer
Dear Brandon,

I've looked at Akai's plasma models on their web site, and as far as I can tell each model has only audio OUTPUTS that can be connected to external speakers. There are no audio INPUT connections. This means that you get TV sound over the TV's speakers by connecting the speakers to the audio OUTPUTS.

Am I missing something? What is it you want to do? Frankly, your last sentence doesn't make sense.

If you're trying to connect the audio outputs of another device, say a DVD player, then you simply connecting the AUDIO OUT of that device to any compatible (analog, coaxial digital, or optical digital) AUDIO IN on your receiver. Then you select that input on your receiver when watching the device's video on your TV.

If you're asking something else, you'll need to be a bit more specific and a tad clearer.

Kindest regards,

Kevin
