Audio Systems: 2006 DODGE FACTORY RADIO, dodge ram 3500, blown fuse

Question
MY SATELLITE RADIO FUNCTION IN MY 2006 DODGE RAM IS NOT WORKING- SIRIUS HAS RESENT THE SIGNAL SEVERAL TIMES. THE LOCAL DEALER SAYS TO DISENGAGE THE POSITIVE TO THE BATTERY AND LEAVE THE TRUCK SIT FOR A HALF HOUR WITH THE IGNITION SWITCHED TO ON. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS OR IS IT TIME FOR REPLACEMENT?

Answer
I'm not much for satellite radio but recently I worked on a dodge ram 3500 van that had an aftermarket sirius installed.  If yours came installed as part of the radio and its controls are accessible through the radio then I would follow the dealers advice to disconnect the battery to reset the unit.  if that doesn’t work there may be something wrong with it.  In the case that it's an after market product, like my friends, I have a few questions,  does the unit respond at all? lights menus, etc.  if not there may be a blown fuse or faulty wiring.  if it just doesn't tune in the stations but all lights/menus work then I would look to either Sirius for service or the manufacturer of the tuner for replacement.
