Audio Systems: Car Audio & Battery, watt amplifier, battery down

I installed a 1200 Watt amplifier and 2 10" subwoofers in my car 2 weeks ago. I've already had to replace my battery. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can economically avoid killing this battery? (capacitor, etc.)

Are you running the battery down playing music while the car is not running? If you are doing that lots, perhaps add a separate battery just for the audio system. If you need more info on that kind of setup, get back to me.
If the charging system is working, and the car is running, the normal battery will not be affected by this basic sub add-on.
