My unit will not power up. An electrical storm my have gotten it. Anything I can do? Look at? to see if it can be repaired.

It doesn't take much of an electrical surge to fry a component. However, sometimes those surges don't leave evidence that is plain to the untrained eye; e.g., melted resistors, black, sooty residue on the power transformer. You can take a look under the hood. If you see something obvious, you'll have to have it repaired. If you don't see something obvious, but the unit still doesn't work, you still have to have it repaired.

I generally recommend that repairing units like these is not cost effective. Get a cheap replacement and when it breaks, replace it, and so on.
