Audio Systems: 97 thunderbird radio, ford thunderbird, 1997 ford thunderbird

Question
The radio would fade out and then quit.  After a few hours it would start working for 5 or 10 min. then quit again.
Now it does not work at all. The power antenna would work when the radio did and at times would work when the radio did not. I do not really know how to check for voltage but tried the volt meter and got voltage across some wires and sometimes no voltage across the same wires. Everything else in car works fine.

I do not know if it has a sending unit or something like that, that is broken and can be replaced.

try the tape if you have the same problem is the amplifier
amplifier is in the trunk hanging from the rear deck
most likely jbl premiun sound
if the tape works fine for tmore than 10 minutes it will be the radio  but i never seen a radio goo bad in that year vehicle i know it happends on the 87 to 1994  not  in 97 vehicles
