Audio Systems: RCA 5 disc changer RS2620, dual tape, cd opener

It's a 2 year old RCA 5 disc changer with dual tape/and tuner...All of a
sudden there is no sound. It lights up...the cd opener opens..it tells the
time.  The speakers are connected.  I turned it on and off...I can't figure
out why there is no sound...all of a sudden...Any clue?

Dear Jeanie,

Combination units like yours are not terribly well built, and the list of things that can go wrong is pretty long. I don't think there's any alternative to simply taking it in to the repair shop. A diagnostic will cost you about $50-75. Compare that to the price you paid for the unit and what it would cost to replace it.
