Audio Systems: Intermittent picture outages, sony trinitron, spring chicken

I have a 16 year old Sony Trinitron. I'm not sure if the age is exact but it definitely is no spring chicken.  It takes around 10 minutes for the picture to come on (sound is always ok).  After it does produce a picture it will intermittently lose it.  Our house is very dusty and I am wondering if I take the back off/blow the dust off if that will fix it or do I just need a new TV.

You can try and clean it out, but at that age, I doubt if even a good cleaning will fill the bill. You can spend about $40-50 and have it bench tested at a repair shop, but my guess is that you're going to need a new TV.
