Audio Systems: My Bose Stereo in my Nissian Maxima, nissian maxima, bose system

Question
I have a 2002 Maxima and recently started having trouble with my CD Player- While the radio works fine- My CD Player skips alot and then when it does decide to play one of the CD's- the music basically fades down some and comes out of just 1 speaker on the driver's side front. What could be causing this? I've used a CD Cleaner and it didn't help... Is there a way that the laser or something else can be checked? When the radio is playing it sounds great- great sound- all speakers working fine- it's just when the CD player is trying to work- that it dull's the sound out and only works in 1 speaker- Can you please help me with this problem...

Answer
Question 1)
Bose is the problem. They are indeed reknowned for their home speakers, but not mobile audio. Do not feel lonely, more than 7 million other Mobile Bose system owners have been 'taken' too.

Question 2)
At this point, there is nothing you can do about it, other than trying to have it repaired (and I would never suggest doing that for a Mobile CD player). It is just not cost effective to repair (much less work on) a 4-5 year old CD player.

Advice:
Replace it with an aftermarket system.
www.crutchfield.com can help you with interfacing this if you want to do it yourself.
Otherwise, go to Circuit City, choose new equipment, and let them have at it.
You can get a CD/MP3/CD-R in-dash deck for under 120.00 + installation. Spend as little as you can stand on the headunit as they will eventually go bad and the cost to replace it in the future will not be too signifigant.
