Audio Systems: Mercedes SL500 speakers fade out, sl500 mercedes, mercedes sl500

I recently purchased a 1994 SL500 mercedes (in as is condition) which has a factory installed bose system with a six cd changer in the trunk. The problem I am having is this:
When first turning the stereo on, all speakers seem to work fine but a few seconds later (1-3 seconds) the speakers located at the passenger side door (2 thus) fade out and deliver no sound. Is this an amp problem or a wiring problem? I'm not sure if I have an Alpine or Becker stereo system but I definitely have a bose amp system installed in the storage compartment on driver's side.

It seems that your amp has got some filters leak inside, keep your volume low for a while and hear if there is any hiss or crackling sound that is a common failure on that type of amps, the repair can be a little pricey but is better option than any used or aftermarket amp. check here:
