Audio Systems: Pioneer SA-7500 Fuse problem, amp fuse, bench test

Question
I just got a Pioneer SA-7500 receiver from a friend, the problem is that as soon as it's powered up, a fuse blows.  it has 3 glass tube fuses in a row: 125V 4A
125V 1A
125V 1A

The 4 amp fuse is the one that blows.  This happens as soon as the power's turned on: no inputs/outputs plugged in.  IT's a bit dusty inside, and the fuse I have isn't exactly right (250V 4A).  Do you think I just need the exact fuse or....

Thanks!

Answer
Dear Charles,

I knew a Chuck Burgess in high school--San Francisco, mid-60s...

First, use the correct fuse and see if it still blows. If so, you have a short circuit that no fuse will fix. You'll need to take the unit to a qualified repair technician for a bench test and diagnosis.
