Audio Systems: 98 Dodge Stratus stereo problem, infinity system, rear speakers

I just recently purchased a 1998 dodge stratus and the stereo is giving no audio feedback.  My brother and I checked the stereo's connection as well as speakers and there are no front speakers. Could this be the cause of absence in all other audio?  I bought the wiring harness and installed another stereo all to find the same results. Stereo seems to work tunes in, plays cd's just no sound.  Rear speakers appear to be installed properly. Any and all help will be appreciated, Thank you

Possibly, I have no idea how that system is wired up at the moment. It may have had an Infinity Premium system  ect. Those will need new speaker wiring to bypass the amplifiers and associated wiring. Or you can attempt to rebuild the Infinity system if it is all still there (not my 1st choice).


You should test the rear speakers with a 9v 'popper' setup, but the main deal here is going to be running all new speaker wiring. At 8 years of age, it is about due anyhow and then at least the back ones will have sound to them, all they have to do is 'work'. Add a pair of new front speakers and you should be in sound heaven in little time.
