It might sound strange for some people but i did that a couple of times, it depends what is the intended pourpose of the sound, if it is for speech (like announcements or preaching!?) is better to use a horn, if you want to play music you can mount marine speakers behind the front grill (don't expect them to last  too long!).
A detail, always use wire loom to run wires on the engine compartement,
it is cheap and saves you big headaches.

Hey, thanks a lot for answering my first question.  I just have one more.  Do you know of any websites or magazines that show how to install speakers under the hood, because I'm not sure if a car shop, or stores like Best Buy or Walmert knows how to install it.?

I couldn't find any article on that but the easiest way is to run tha wire from the interior trough a hole in the firewall, and use a marine speaker enclosure find a safe spot for it and  using a couple of self tapping screws (drywall type works too)affix it to the body. BE CAREFULL WHERE YOU MAKE HOLES!!
