Audio Systems: Plasma TV - Upgrade cables, panasonic plasma hdtv, replacement cables

I just purchased a 42" Panasonic Plasma HDTV and will take delivery the end of this week.  The salesman told me to upgrade to monster cable as this will greatly improve the performance of the picture and my Home Theater System.  Each cable is $50.00 and I will need 3, i.e. one for the DVD, VCR and Receiver.  I believe my cable company will put on its standard?  What are your thoughts on this and do you think it is worth the extra $150.00 plus tax?  Thank you in advance for your answer.

Monster Cable is very good cable. It is also somewhat pricey, but not as expensive as some other cables. However, "upgrading" to Monster Cable will not improve the performance of your home theater system one bit. Use the cables that the manufacturers supplied with their components.

I know that an awful lot of folks put a lot of stock in "upgraded" replacement cables, but do you really think that a manufacturer would deliberately compromise an otherwise excellent product (DVD player, VCR, receiver) by shipping it with poor cables? I don't.
