Audio Systems: Subwoofers, rca cables, speaker wires

Question
i am not get anything from the subs, my amp has power to it. i have an eq so the rca cables from the amp run to that then i have rca cables that run to the head unit from the eq, these all have power and the head unit is working properly.I know the subs are hooked up right because alls i did was transfer these items from my old car to my new one.  any help?  Thank you

Answer
The basic RCA signal flows goes from the head on TO other gear.
1) Check your grounds.
2) Unkook the subs speaker wires from the amp and attach a 9v test battery to the leads to 'pop test' the subs [to be sure they are wired and working].
*Be sure to only touch the battery to the speaker leads for a moment.
The reason, is that it would be kind of silly to run in circles, inadvertantly troubleshooting the wrong part, eh ? :)

3) Try bypassing the EQ entirely, 1st. That is, unplug the rca's from the EQ inputs and plug them directly into the amps' inputs.
If the subs work, the EQ (or its' interface) is problematic.
