QuestionMy radio has no sound and stopped responding to any buttons except the on/off. It displays the last FM station on the LCD. When you put a CD in, it spins up shows the CD playing but no sound. When you take the CD out it goes back to the FM station but still no sound. If you run the volume down to min, you get the "boop" through the speakers. As none of the buttons work, you can't swap to AM, change channel, etc.
I tried pulling fuse 42 but all that did was change the default FM station to 88.3. I checked the fuse in the back of the radio, its OK.
Radio illumination works when the headlights are turned on.
I've seen this problem on other forums/sites but no one ever posted what the proble or solution was.

That is probably because they do not want to spell out the obvious.
The factory deck is bad.
They are cheaper to replace than to repair.
