Audio Systems: reset trick for car stereo, gmc savana, cassette deck

i am driving a company van / GMC Savana 2003 with
an am/fm cd & cassette deck.   no sound is coming
through, but the units buttons all seem to function correctly.

a year or so ago this happened, the crew took it in and GMC "reset" the system and all was fine.

is this something that i can do myself? if so, could you tell me how?

If it is a factory unit, tell them to replace it.
Provided your vehicle is in good working order owtherwise,it is likely a bad unit if it needs reset this often.
The dealer saying it was 'reset', could mean many things, such as, they simply unhooked the power to it, ect.

You may be able to find a very small recessed button on the head unit to reset it.
