Audio Systems: WHITE NOISE ON 2003 CARAVAN RADIO, traffic jam, white noise

MY WIFE HAD DRIVEN PAST A TRAFFIC JAM , SHE HAD NOTICED A TRANSFORMER ON A POLE WAS ON FIRE WHEN SHE HAD PASSED THE TRAFFIC JAM HER RADIO WENT RIGHT TO WHITE NOISE CAN YOU HELP HER SHE WANTS SIRRIUS RADIO INSTALLED AND I KNOW IT NEEDS THE RADIO AS A RECEIVER TO GET RECEPTION

That much bad luck with radio and ya want to move on and add sattelite to its' tasks?  humm

I would like specifically to help with this extreme occurence, but if it is not something obvious [such as the antenna just came loose], I would simply suggest to get a new deck that has XM/sirrous built in.
You can get one for under 100.00 and it will work fine as well as have a warranty.
