Audio Systems: speaker, crossover frequency, powered subwoofer

hello my name is cody and i have a subwoofer surround sound system in my room and when i turn it on the speakers in the main tower thing work but the subwoofer just clicks is there anything that you can think of thats wrong with it? thanks

How is the subwoofer connected to your receiver? How are the front channel speakers connected? I assume it's a powered subwoofer. Is it plugged in?

What are the settings on the subwoofer? There should be one each for the crossover frequency and volume. Where did you set them?
