Audio Systems: 2000 ford taurus, ford taurus, climate controls

Question
My girly friend's stereo packed it in. Now the situation is she has climate control that is in dash. I was looking to buy her a mp3 player for her car but can not find a company that has a mounting bracket. Because of this climate control all the places I've looked at has mounting assemblies but not for the taurus with the climate control. Ever hear or come across problems like this, and if so I'm wide open to your ideas, thanks, Vern

I have not had the pleasure(?) of working on one of those but I would think it is doable if you had a pro look at it in person.
Simply put, for custom work, 'how much fun you can afford' is the bottom line.
Perhaps there is a way to do it without re-routing those climate controls but I would have to see it in person. :(

I presume you have tried crutchfield.com and other sites for a special mounting kit for that model.
