Audio Systems: Car stereo/Keyless entry, remote keyless entry, small claims court

Question
I need suggestions on how to solve the following: 1998 Honda Civic EX with factory installed AM/FM/CD player and security system. Had local car stereo specialty shop install Pioneer DEH-P860MP as Xmas present for son and picked up car yesterday. Got home and realized the remote keyless entry wouldn't work.  First thought was remote transmitter battery failure but battery tester shows remote battery is good. 2nd remote also doesn't work. Then figured they probably had to disconnect the battery while the car was in the shop so the keys probably needed to be reprogrammed. Tried to reprogram the remotes but cannot as the button to do that was on the old stereo which is now gone. Also, when I manually lock all the doors by pushing down on the door lock switch on the drivers door, there is a faint noise/hum emanating from the new stereo, as if there was some kind of electrical connection at least transiently i.e. 1 second.  Your thoughts on how to proceed?  Can remotes work with this stereo or am I out of luck?
Thank you for your time.

Answer
take it back to installer and demand they make it right. if they can't, take it to where they can fix it and submit bill to first place. you just might end up in small claims court over this, but be sure to stand your ground and don't let them take advantage of you any further. as far as remotes, if stereo didn't come with one, it will never work. sounds like they took power from wherever they could, which is causing some of your problems. you have to let installer try at least once before you take legal action.
