Audio Systems: cant turn volume up, alpine v12, stiffening capacitors

Question
i have recently installed a full stereo in my 2000 WRX with the latest pioneer head unit pioneer 6 inch 220watt bullet bass splits, pioneer 6 inch 225watt yellow arimid fibre cone speakers, 2 x pioneer 12 inch 800watt subs, a 700watt alpine v power mono block amp which runs both subs and a alpine v12 500watt 4 channel amp which runs all the speakers. the problem is that when i turn the volume up on the deck passed 10 the speakers cut out but the subs stay on. ive checked over the wiring heaps of times and cant find the problem. please help

Answer
Once you have checked the wiring, it is checked.
That tells me that the problem is not in the wiring.  :O

It is most likely your stock alternators' amperage limits. One cannot install 1200 watts RMS into anything that has a stock alternator and expect those 1200 watts to be reproduced accurately.

The next most likely culprit would be that your system gains are too high on the v12.
Improper crossover settings could also contribute to this problem which you generically describe.

A better alternator and stiffening capacitors will help, but they cannot overcome improper hardware/software settings.
