Question
i have a 2004 mazda 6 with the bose sound system that sounds great except the lows .I plan on putting 2 12" jl w3 d2 inside to help with this problem .is there anything special i should know before i begin this project ,i had heard once that something was different about hooking up to bose ,but i honestly have no idea .Also ,do you have any recomendations on enclosure type and size ?thank you for any info you can give

Answer

1st of all, you are going to go from 'not enough bass', to 'way more bass than mids and highs' by adding two 12's.
One properly loaded 12 will give you ample bass to spare (while retaining a bit more of your rear storage area).
As to adding on to a bose system, yes you must be aware that the most Bose systems have an amplifer at each speaker.
To be honest, I wouild start with a new deck, then speaker wirees and speakers, finally followed by an amp (probably 4 channel+) and a sub.
This way, things will be very tolerable as you upgrade.
Tune each sub as per manufacturers' advice.
