Audio Systems: adding sat radio to 02 Dodge Durango, infinity system, wireless fm transmitter

Question
I have an '02 Dodge Durango with the Infinity system and I'm looking to add a satellite radio system to it probably in the next 2-3 months or so.  I know that you can listen to the sat radio via the unit's wireless fm transmitter.  I have a wireless one from Belkin I use for my mp3 player and while it works decently, I do get static from time to time depending on where I drive and this is what I want to avoid with the sat radio.  I was looking to use the following to hardwire the sat radio into my car radio (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jA4RzJ4k2Td/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=251550&I=6071411...).  First, would this unit work with my model car/radio?  Second, is this something that I can do easily and without damaging anything?  When I posed this question on the newsgroups, I received fairly good responses but I'm still a bit confused.  Someone mentioned that I wouldn't need to get to the back of the radio and that my model has a newer type of antenna connector which might not be compatible with older style GM plugs.  This doesn't really mean anything to me as I don't know what either look like or whether that unit from Crutchfield is an older style plug or newer.  This person also mentioned I could get to the plugs I was looking for by removing the glove compartment, not the radio itself.  I am absolutely no expert in this area which is why I'm looking for any help I can get.  I would very much like it if there were some book or manual that could walk me through something like this.  Would a Chilton manual have this sort of information in it?  There's one at a local library which I haven't looked into yet.  Thanks for any help.

Answer
Jeff,

I just recently removed a CD changer from an 02 durango for my brother, which used all the basic wires for powering the unit and was connected through an adapter to the back of the radio, which i had to remove the unit to unconnect,  his was however not an infinity system, when an OEM amplified system is in the mix it makes things more complicated to add additions such as changers, xm radio, subwoofers, ect.. now since you are going crutchfield which i highly recommend i worked for them for awhile and they have ever kind of information about any kind of vehicle and product at the click of a mouse so they have the best tech staff and sales people of any other company, just give them a call tell them what you want and what its going in, they can get you an order set up for exactly what you need and even online phone assistance while your doing the install, so everything should go smooth... sorry i cant give you the exacts for this but this will get you in touch with who you need to be.... thanks
