Audio Systems: Power wire...ect., channel amp, watt amp

Question
Hi, I have a couple of questions before I install my car stereo.  First off I am installing a eclipse 4 channel amp for the speakers and the big eclipse 2000 watt amp for the subs.  I am planning on running 0 awg for the sub amp and 8 awg for the speaker amp.  Is there any difference between buying name brand wire vs. generic wire? An example of that would be Streetwires 0 awg is about 3 something a foot where knukonceptz 0 awg is about 2 something a foot. Should I go with the brand that has the most strands? (Streetwires 4256 strands in 0 awg where Stinger has 4284)  Next would you reccomend running both pos and neg wires for both amps from the battery back to the amp, opposed to running just the pos and grounding the neg.  Also if you have any information or tips on powering big stereos feel free to spill your guts. (types of batteries that kinda stuff)
Thank you very much

Answer
If the insulation is the same (and they usually are) it is a matter of choice for you. I would get the cheaper ones.
28 strands is going to make ZERO difference audibly, and likely near zero, measurably..

The main goal at that gauge is that it does not short out..  *see grommets, insulation and proper fusing.

Never EVER run a ground wire any longer than it needs to be to reach a suitable chassis ground.

tips?

But I answer questions here :)

The best bet for batterys is probably going to be Lead Calcium or NiCad.
But the main deal is to have it MOBILE, so since it runs entirely off of the alternator when the engine is runnning..  be sure to have a LARGE one put in (over 160 amps).
