Audio Systems: about A CD player, laser area, transport belt

my Question is I have a CD player caroussel five cds when you press open sometime it does open but must of the time no plus the motor stay on at all time no mechanism movement from the laser area what is the maine reason for that?

The real answer depends on what brand and how old your CD changer is. Most of the time, a worn transport belt is the culprit, but there can be other reasons.

The more important question is what to do with it. You can take it to a qualified repair shop, but they'll charge you anywhere from $75-200 to fix it. I'd suggest looking into a new DVD carousel changer. They all play CDs; the electronics are better; and they're cheaper than having an old CD player repaired.
