Audio Systems: Chrysler Stereo Inoperable in Hot Weather, chrysler sebring convertible, extreme temperature conditions

Question
I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible with an AM/FM Stereo/amplifier and CD changer. Think its Infinity brand. During cool weather all is fine. When spring time rolled around, pulled out of garage and radio played fine. At lunch time, when weather was warm the radio would only blink (clock or tuning display) with no music. If it is a cool day, it will work fine. Now that summer is here, it rarely plays - only blinks at me.  If the temp is in low 70s it may play at lunch time but then if I turn up volume, or hit the turn signal, sometimes the radio stops and then just blinks at me again.  Other folks on various message boards have experienced the same problem but no one has been able to supply an answer.  I'd like to get a clue as to what is wrong before I go to a dealer and get ripped off. Don't want to simply replace the radio since I know the one I have works fine in cool weather and a new radio may simply mask the real problem for a while and then the new radio may later experience same problem.  Any advice here?  Help!

Answer
unit has a circuit that detects overheating then shuts off critical portions to prevent damage. evidently they just dont have the bugs worked out. theres no way to disable it, only thing you can do is put up with it (no!) or just go ahead and replace it. my alpine cd portion wont work when its hot, or in the winter when the heater is running either. screw this new computer controlled extra sensitive junk that is meant for auto use but normally just doesnt work right under more extreme temperature conditions. it would be nice if stereo shops would let you use a hair dryer to make sure the junk doesnt cut off when warm.
