Audio Systems: Acura CL Bose Stereo access, bose stereo, acura dealer

Question
Hi Garry,

I bought a 1999 Acura CL 3.0 last week
nice car
yesterday I was trying to replace a headlight bulb
thats why I unplugged the battery
and plug it back
when I run the engine I saw that stereo (Bose) started to ask the code
I found the 5 digit code, but it keeps refusing it
I then called the guy that sold me the car and talked to the him, he is claiming that it is the right code, and even he tried it before without problem
I tried at least 20 times, after each trial I unplugged and plugged the battery again it didn't work
I also waited 1 hour when the system on (as adviced in the booklet) and put the code again but it din't work neither
today I went to an Acura dealer, but they are asking at least $95 and they will dissamble the bose etc...
do you have any idea / comment to save me?

thanks again

Answer
make some more phone calls to acura......most give that info for free as long as you present registration to prove it's legally yours. the one that wanted to charge you, after you get info for free, tell them to kiss it. most dealers i've dealt with, as long as you show you own vehicle, they give codes freely. it's only supposed to be a pain in the ass if you're a crook.
