Audio Systems: car stereo, ford escort, tape player

Question
I have a 98 Ford Escort.  It has a tape player and I use a CD player that is car-ready.  My problem is, it has to stay on side 1 to work, and my tape player WILL NOT stay on side 1, I can flip it to side 1, but it will almost immediately flip to side 2.  It used to eventually stay, but now it hardly ever does.  Can I simply fix this problem or would it be cheaper to just buy a CD player?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Veirs,
Buying a new CD player to replace the tape deck entirely is the better solution, it's definitely the more expensive option. Since you probably play CDs all the time, it really would be worth the investment to just buy a CD player. There are plenty of inexpensive ones out there, and installation can be done by yourself (if you're somewhat technically proficient) or a shop (if you have the money). Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your question, work has been especially brutal as of late. I hope this answers your question though.

Best Of Luck,
Alan
