QuestionI have a 1993 Mitsubishi GT3000 radio (MB943294) that frequently has a whine/buzz on only on FM stations below 102. Stations above this come in clean. Also CDs, Tapes play clean, and sometimes stations below the 102 come in clean. This occurrs with the car running or off. This is a digital tunner. This is has been going on for about 2 months.
Any idea what could be causing the problem? I did not think digital FM tuners had different circuits based on the frequency - but maybe I am wrong?

The bottom line is that the radio is 12 years old.
Short of 'throwing' new parts/wiring at the vehicle, the next logical step is to have the radio tested out of the vehicle. This is true whether or not it is in the same car.
If it functions properly out of the vehicle, the radio is fine!
This may seem extreme, but is the faster and usually cheaper way to approach this problem.
If money is not an issue, take it to a local professional.
