Audio Systems: files on dvd, sound and vision magazine, rom disc

Hi, in the past, I have put video clips, usually mpg onto a regular cd rom disc and then put them into a dvd player and it was worked before, but when I put avi files into a regular cd rom disc, it won't play on my dvd player since it doesn't support avi files.  So I was just wondering if I put avi files onto a dvd disc and pop that into my dvd player, would it work, since it is also a dvd disc? Thanks!

Regrettably not all DVD players support all types of video files. If you have a DVD writer, you might as well try your solution, but I'd check your DVD's manual first to ascertain the file types it supports. Might save you a tad of aggravation.
