Audio Systems: RADIO POSSESSED, seperate service, hurricane isabel

I HAVE A 1994 BUICK LESABRE THAT SEEMS TO HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN.  IT COMES ON BY ITSELF AND CHANGES STATIONS, FROM FM1 TO FM2 TO AM. IT ALL STARTED WHEN I PUSHED THE SCAN BUTTON.  IT IS NOW AFFECTING MY AUTO CLIMATE CONTROL, GOES FROM AIR CONDITIONING TO HEAT.  BACK AND FORTH. NO SPECIFIC ORDER.IT IS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. IT DOES SHUT OFF WHEN I PUSH THE POWER BUTTON, SOMETIMES.

hate to give you bad news, but that one probably will have to be solved by a buick dealer. if it was just the sound system, i would say that some control buttons have gone intermittant and need cleaning by dissassembly and spraying with good contact cleaner and lube. but since environmental controls are also acting up, the only recourse is going to a dealer. auto sound shop might be able to fix the stereo, but they will tell you to go to a dealer for the rest. why have 2 seperate service calls when the dealer can do it all. note though that dealer service is costly, and be sure to have them stick to your estimate. that car hasn't been flooded before, has it? people are having a lot of problems here with cars that were flooded by hurricane isabel, totaled by insurance companies and then cleaning them up and selling them to unsuspecting buyers. i wish you luck, hope i gave you a little insight, g...........
