Audio Systems: CD player problems, camaro z28, bose system

Question
I recently purchased a CD player on ebay for my 96 Camaro Z28.  The car originally had an AM/FM radio and I wanted to upgrade to a GM original CD player.  I purchased a regular (I understood)CD player from someone on ebay.  Well, the yahoo I purchased the radio from stated it WASN'T a Bose CD player.  Well, it was, and it is locked.  How can I 1)unlock it, and 2) convert it to a non Bose system.  I don't want to spend a ton of money on this thing. Is there anything I can do or am I now the proud owner of a $100 paperweight?

Answer
Mark,
You could always Email the seller and tell them the stereo is locked and to either provide you the unlock code, or refund you the purchase price. To get the unlock code you will have to visit your local Chevy dealer so they can run the numbers on the stereo. With a Bose stereo you will need an external amp.
