Question -
My '98 Windstar came stock with AM/FM/cassette Radio and rear seat controls.  Purchased OEM AM/FM/CD from e-Bay.  Unit from e-Bay is supposedly for '95-'98 Windstar and should be direct swap.  Physical size, mount, faceplate, etc. is same as current unit.  Wiring harness plugs are different.  On back of unit, extreme right side as viewing from rear, are wiring harness plug-ins.  Unit in my van has a single plug in this location.  Plug runs vertically, almost from top to bottom of case, is about 3/8" wide, and has single row of about 8 contacts.  The unit that I received off e-Bay has two plugs in this location, both plugs approx 1/2" square, one a 6 pin and the other an 8 pin connector.  Unit was shipped with vehicle-side plugs and harness pigtails.  The wiring pigtails are both gray-wrapped, six-strand cables, each also having a coax-type ground strand running through the outer cable sheath.  What do I need to do to adapt this OEM AM/FM/CD to my vehicle?  I considered splicing in the pigtails that came with the unit but the color coding does not seem to coincide between pigtails and vehicle harness.  Only number I can find on the unit received is F32F-18K817-BF.  I don't have number from stock cassette player readily available as unit is back in van.  How can I adapt the AM/FM/CD wiring to my current vehicle wiring?

Thanks in advance for any help you might provide!

Answer -
Steve,
The stereo that you purchased on ebay is a premium stereo that uses an external amp. If you give me the complete model number off the original stereo I will see if the Ebay stereo can be adapted to your vehicle using a Pioneer, kenwood or any other after market amp.

Answer
Steve,
Hang in there I will see what I can come with for the wiring of the Ebay unit into your vehicle. It may take a few days since I'm relocating my service shop and all of my service manuals are packed for shipping.
