Audio Systems: 96 Ford JBL Radio wont power down, ford jbl, power antenna

Question
How can the on/off button on my 96 Ford JBL radio be made opperational again?
The radio is fully functional, the volume can be changed, but pushing the button in will not power off the radio. So the power antenna is always up and the radio is only powered off by the ignition.

The power on/off is most likely an electronic switching circuit. In many stereos that use this type of power switching circuits I will find that the main power switch transistor will short out and this will cause the stereo to be powered up at all times. If you give me the complete model number of the stereo I will look over the service info.
