Audio Systems: Head unit/wiring problem, cd mp3 player, ford explorer

Question
I have installed a Majestic cd/mp3 player reciently installed in a 96 ford explorer. I have also wired with a wiring harness from walmart made for this year explorer. everything was color coded and went together nice, however when you shut off the explorer the radio makes like a feed back over the speakers. I have triple checked the wiring and still does it. also just yesterday the cd player quit. I looked at the wiring and everything disconnected the plug from the cd player and plugged it back in and now it works again. what could be going wrong?

Answer
Matt,
The original stereo in your vehicle may have been a premium stereo that used an external amp/s. It's possible that the amp/s may not be shutting down completely and this is causing the noise. If you have the original stereo, please give me all the numbers off it so I can see what sound system the stereo uses.
