Audio Systems: burnt fuses, nissan altima, clutch repair

Question
Tom, i recently had the clutch replaced on a 98 nissan altima at a dependable repair shop. The clutch works great, but my stereo does not. The problem is the fuse (10a) in the panel in the hood compartment blows as soon as replaced. The fuse (10a) in the dash is good and does not blow. Is it possible that the repair shop may have shorted some wires during the clutch repair? The unit worked fine before it was taken to the repair shop. Thanks for your opinion.

Answer
Brian,
Its possible that the repair shop may have somehow pinched a wire when working on the transmission to replace the clutch.  To the best of my knowledge I don't know of any wires that go down to the transmission area that will carry the power for the stereo. You may want to pull out the stereo and unplug it and then replace the fuse to see if it blows out. If the fuse blows only when the stereo is plugged in the problem is inside the stereo.
