hi tom

i own a 1995 acura integra ls

i just wanted to lknow something about my rockord fosgate punch 50.1 amp.
i hooked it up in my car but my amp overheats really bad  and cause the amp to shut down and i am not sure what it could be i checked all the connections and everything seems to be ok but the problem is still there.
the amp i have is old and it has those card that you could insert in the bottom of the amp and has also 2 powers and 2 grounds.

could you please help me ? and the amp is powering 2 kenwood subs, could you please help me fix that problems cause it is getting really frustrating.

Any number of problems can cause the amp to over heat and shut down. First off, the 12 volt supply and ground wire may be too small to completely power up the amp. The speaker impedance could be too low for the amp. next, you could be over driving the amp from the head unit. lastly, The amp itself may be defective.
