Audio Systems: 1997 Mitsubishi Galant Radio Memory, mitsubishi galant, pioneer keh

Question
It is a Pioneer KEH-1800. I am almost sure it is all correctly hooked up right (I just took the radio out to put in a CD changer). Unortunately the person who installed the radio cut the factory harness, but all the wires coming from the factory tube are hooked up which leads me to believe that there is a problem with the wire getting power.

Question -
Ok so my car radio doesnt remember anything. I got it with an aftermarket radio, and it didnt remember anything then. I bought the car used so they wouldnt fix it. Is it possible that the memory and the power (switched) got mixed up? Is this possible? I havent checked the voltage coming from the wire its hooked up to yet, but if there is no voltage when I check it what should I check next? Could it be fuses, or a broken line?
Thanks

George,
Please give me the complete make and model number of the stereo so I can look over the service manual. On most after market stereos they use two 12 volt power feed wires, yellow for station memory (hot at all times)and red (switched with the key on)for main power. You may want to use a 12 volt test lamp and check the yellow wire at the connector in the rear of the stereo.

Answer
George,
Try testing for 12 volts on the yellow wire that goes into the connector of the stereo. If you do not have 12 volts at the connector follow the yellow wire down to the splice and test for 12 volts there. The yellow wire must have 12 volts at all times or the station memory won't work.
