Audio Systems: Toyota L4200 3 Disc CD changer, costly repair, stereo unit

Hi Tom,
I pushed the eject button on the CD player in my 1996 Corolla and the magazine holder advanced out, but it will not retreat back into the dash and then release the magazine (as it should). Is there anyway I remove the magazine and still keep my CD changer, without having to send out for repair? Thanks.

Unless you have experience repairing these units, your best bet is to have a repair shop take a look at the CD stereo unit. Don't pry or pull on the magazine or trays or you will turn a minor repair into a costly repair job. The internal assemblies of these CD units are made of plastic and they will break easily if pried on.
