Audio Systems: car radio, honda prelude, station clock

Question
the radio/cd player in my 97' honda prelude doesn't turn on anymore. it stopped working suddenly while driving. i checked the fuse box under the hood and the fuse was fine. the display doesn't say "code" so i don't think it's the theft system. the clock still works and the buttons on the radio/cd player still light up when i turn on the head lights. it doesn't accept CDs, so i don't think it's getting power. what could be the problem with the radio/cd player. it seems like there would be a very easy solution. please help

Answer
Duy,
All newer car stereos will have two 12 volt sources to them. One 12 volts hot at all times (station/clock memory) and one 12 volt source that is switched with the key on ( main power). You may want to use a 12 volt test lamp and check to see if the 12 volt switched source is OK at the rear of the stereo, if it is the problem is inside the stereo.
