Audio Systems: DUAL XD6210 CD RECEIVER 2003, light flickers, incandescent lamp

I have a in dash cd reciever for a car made by dual. The display light showing the radio station,volume,or whether the cd is playing does
not stay on. The diaplay light flickers on when you first turn the car radio on and then it stays off making the display hard to see.  Do you have any idea what is wrong with the display light? It is a Dual XD 6210 IN-DASH CD RECEIVER

I don't have a service manual for this model stereo, however the problem may be due to a defective connection. The faulty connection could be on the pins of the display module or in the display power supply. On some stereos the display is back lit by an incandescent lamp, if the display is an LCD display.
