Thanks, I thought that might be the case.

I tried prying the plate off, but im afraid ill break it.  Is it possible that the screws are behind the air conditioning vent?

You may want to look in the AC vents and in the ash tray. On some vehicles the screws that hold the trim onto the dash will be hidden in these areas. If this vehicle has an ash tray under the stereo, pull the ash tray out of the dash and then you may see screws by looking up above the ash tray slot.
