Audio Systems: 96 Maxima Radio, maxima radio, wire colors

My Radio for the the '96 Maxima has no sound. The backlights light up but the display does not and no sound. I have looked at all the fuses and cannot get the stereo out. Please help. What might be wrong and how do i get the stereo out of the dash.

Take a close up look at the trim around the stereo and you may see several screws that hold it on. On some vehicles the screws may be hidden in the AC vents and in the ash tray. Once you have the stereo out of the dash you might want to use a 12 test lamp and check/test for 12 volts on the memory lead and the power lead to the stereo.
