Audio Systems: change out and repairs of clarion i30 bose, load sensors, bose

Question
Tom, I have a i30 96 Bose Clarion set-up the orginal cd player errored and kept the cd. After taking the unit apart and retriving the cd. I reassembled the unit and the cd player will not accept a cd and will not start up. The question I have is can I take a cd unit from another of the same type of unit and replace it in the original unit, with out causing the orgianl units theft code to activate, and is there some way to correct this should this happen, Or should this not be done at all.  Thanks jjp.

Answer
Jim,
There is a way to read the anti-theft code before you disconnect the stereo form the vehicle. Ask the dealer how to read the code and once you have the code write it down. If you have a CD deck from a similar stereo it may work. As for the CD deck in your stereo, In many cases one of the load sensors will fail and cause the cd assemble to jam, not eject or not to load a CD.
