Audio Systems: wire problen in my 95 dodge dakota, sony cd player, blown fuse

had a sony cd player in my truck then one day amp cut out and then pulled cd player out to check rmt wire but got a shor now radio wont work arftermarket and factory think it is my ignition acc. but cant find a wire diagram to trace wire back to locate if it melted? do u know were i can get a free wire diagram?

The Sony stereo requires two 12 volt feeds to operate. A 12 volt hot at all times and a 12volt feed switched with the ignition on. You may want to use a volt meter or a 12 volt test lamp to check for both feeds. If a wire to the stereo melted you would have smelled it burning, the problem may be a blown fuse in the fuse box.
