Audio Systems: FM cutting out on Jeep Infinity Stereo, jeep cherokee, stereo decoder

2000 Jeep Cherokee with Infinity AM-FM/CD/Cassette
The FM cuts out when playing.  Will eventually start playing again, sometimes for days. Then it starts over. Everything sounds fine, then sound cuts out completely or is very low with static.  The ST indicator goes off when this happens.  The seek functions still find stations when this is happening, but no sound.  I have checked all connections and antennae connection.  The AM,CD,and cassette all work great all the time.

If the tuner will still seek and lock onto stations the tuner section is OK, the fault may be with the stereo decoder section. The problem may be due to defective solder connections in the decoder section or failing capacitors.
