Audio Systems: Choosing speakers for classical music, bookshelf speakers, klipsch rf 7

Question
Hi Kevin
We need help urgently --- we are relocating overseas to China and would like to purchase a second pair of tower/bookshelf speakers to take with us. Could you recommend some brand/models? we primarily listen to classical music, both instrument and vocal. Today we went to a local store and saw two models that sound good: POLK AUDIO LSi15 High Definition Floorstanding Loudspeaker ($749.99 each) and KLIPSCH RF-7 Floorstanding Loudspeaker ($800 EA). which one of the two (or any other specific brand/model would you recommend -- in this price range or even a bit lower? we need to buy this within next 2 days so we would really appreciate your prompt reply! Thanks!

Answer
Dear Christina,

Both the Polk and Klipsch are excellent speakers. Others I would recommend in the $500-$750 price range are:

PSB Image T45 (floor standing; $750)
PSB Image B25 (bookshelf; $450)

Locate a dealer at www.psbspeakers.com.

If you have the opportunity, speakers from NHT, Paradigm, JM Labs, and Celestion are all excellent performers. Since I haven't auditioned any of their models in your price range, I can't give specific recommendations. However, I have auditioned the PSBs and recommend them highly.

China, eh? Worlds away. Nonetheless, you're in for quite an adventure. Enjoy.

Good luck. And thanks for choosing allexperts.com!

Kindest regards,

Kevin
