Audio Systems: 96 Explorer CD Changer Mag Wont Eject, ford factory, costly repair

Question
I am having problems getting the 6 CD magazine to eject from my disk changer. I have a 96 Explorer and the CD changer is inside the middle console. It appears that 2 CDs have ended up on top of each other in a single slot, so now the magazine can't eject or play CDs. It looks to me that the entire changer will have to be taken out of the console, which is no small feat, and the outer case opened to get the magazine out. Am I headed in the right direction on this? Any suggestions or tips you could give me would be greatly appreciated since I don't have the $$ to spend on Ford factory repairs! Thanks!

Answer
Melissa,
You are correct, the changer will have to be removed and dissassembled to remove the stuck CDs. DO NOT pry or pull on anything or you may turn a very minor problem into a costly repair! Once you have the changer out of the vehicle and sitting on a work table with plenty of light you will next have to take off the other cover/s. With the cover/s off you will have to turn the load motor/assembly in reverse to back the CDs out of the changer and back into the cartridge.
