Audio Systems: No Sound, chrysler lebaron, panasonic cq

Question
Just installed a new Panasonic CQ-C1300U CD unit in a '95 Chrysler Lebaron Convertable.
Had the wiring correct, double checked it.  Didn't use a wiring harness unfortunately and already snipped the connectors from inside the car, but each wire to each speaker connection is correct. Get full power and functionality, but no sound whatsoever...no pop or anything. There were two wires I couldnt' account for to make connections...one labled ILL and one labled PARK (ILL for Illumination I assume).  Could these two wires not being connected account for the error.  I also read you answers below about a factory Amp.  I see no amp to bypass, am I right to assume there isn't one in this car? Any help is greatly appreciated

Answer
Randy,
Please give me the model number of the original factory stereo if you still have it, I can look up the service info to see if this stereo uses an external amp. If you don't have the factory stereo, give me the color of the plugs and the color of the wires in each plug.
