Audio Systems: bose radio and amps, stock radio, bose system

Question
i have 89 caddy deville w/stock radio just replaced because of faulty amplifiers do you know where they are to pull them out i still have buzzing in the front speakers from the amps i believe pulled dash and could not find amps this was factory installed bose/delco gold series system. original problem was delay in stereo to come on when turned on, then speakers would come on intermittently any suggestions

Answer
Kevin,
Most of the Bose system amps are mounted near the speakers. In many cases the amps are inside a plastic box that holds the speaker. The problem with the amps is most likely the capacitors mounted on the circuit board/s. These capacitors will leak the electrolytic fluid out of them and they will fail which will cause the speaker to squeal, pop or be dead altogether.
